3 Years After Operation for Jaw Cancer
9th July 2018 was my 1st day in hospital since having my tonsils out in the early 70’sThe next day I was wheeled down for my 1st operation to remove half my lower jaw and have it reconstructed using the fibula bone from my left leg.
Various ups and downs meant 7 weeks in hospital followed by a fortnight at home before starting 33 sessions of radiotherapy and 2 sessions of chemo.
There was a period when I didn’t think I would make the next Christmas but here I am, 3 years later feeling pretty good.
To celebrate I went out and bought myself a new sunhat.
Hey, If Indiana Jones can get away with it at 78 I’m sure I can at 57 🙂
